I am an experienced independent professional at the interface of global health, life sciences and access to medicine.

Over the past 20 plus years I have gained significant professional experience in the private health sector in Europe and the US as well as in international development in South Asia and Africa.

I have been working with renowned organizations from the private, public, NGO sector as well as donors (i.e. Pfizer, Sanofi, World Bank, GIZ, Clinton Health Access Initiative) on the topics of access to medicines, new medicine launch, health program design and management.

I am regularly invited to serve as speaker and panelist on these topics. As a former Fulbright scholar, I gained an MBA and hold a Masters in Global Health (MPH) from New York University.

My Gifts

background
  • Collaborative LEADER

I have a proven track-record of successfully leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams in complex corporate settings as well as scrappy start-up settings. Inspiring teams to deliver quality results on time, discovering their potential, helping them to grow and having fun along the way is what I thrive for.

My good sense of people and team dynamics has helped me recognize and foster the role each team member plays to achieve a common goal. Instilling a sense of pride for what has been achieved together is an essential part of my leadership philosophy.

  • Realistic IDEALIST

I am aware of the inherent conflict regarding universal access to health care as a human right and the realities of providing health services or health technology in a cost-efficient and sustainable manner - either in the private, public or non-for-profit sectors in an unequal world.

Being a creative, pragmatic and result-oriented problem solver, I can balance idealism and structure. A combination of an open and curious mind, excellent strategic thinking and analytical rigor as well as a whole lot of common sense help me when looking for innovative solutions.

  • Empiric NAVIGATOR

Guided by my practical experience working in the private, public and NGO sectors as well as in mature high-resourced as well as developing low-resourced health systems, I bring unique crossover perspectives to the challenges in the complex health system. Understanding the needs of the different actors, constituencies and cultures involved, I am always looking for co-creating simple, sustainable and mutually beneficial solutions for all key players involved. Throughout my career, I built a global network that spans across the different sectors as well as across continents and cultures.
